FAQ

Accounts

Users

Your username is randomly generated, but you can change it by passing verification using your BItcointalk or Altcointalk account, verification will take less than a minute! All you need to do is temporarily insert the unique code on your forum profile (after your account is verified, you can delete the code).

This method helps us filter out comment abuse associated with multiple accounts. Furthermore, comments from verified users are automatically approved. We are already working to significantly expand the list of platforms that can be used for account verification (without the need for authentication).

When creating an account, please save your login key, as it cannot be recovered if lost.

Projects can launch a review campaign on BitcoinTalk and ask participants to share their reviews on BitList, but don't make it mandatory. See what we mean by honest reviews based on real experience.

Filters

Sorting

  • Newest added.
  • Oldest added.
  • Highest rating.
  • Most reviews.
  • Highest karma.

By default, sorting is by highest karma, but you can change this to suit your needs. We are constantly improving the directory, so let us know your ideas if you would like to see new sorting options.

Categories

By default, all categories are displayed.

Given the vast selection of categories and the fact that some of them differ significantly in their specificity, we selected criteria for block previews that unify all categories (web, onion, karma, reviews, PGP, KYC, year, and assets).

Service Status / Assets

Sorting by coins occurs only after selection (Bitcoin, Monero, Altcoins, Fiat). The default service status is "Verified" and "Approved". Below we have provided a brief description of service statuses and the change process.

  • Verified

The service has demonstrated stable and reliable operation for a long time, successfully passing anonymous retests. The support team resolves issues within the stated timeframes, and there are no outstanding issues. Often, the service has escrow on various platforms or a low anti-money laundering rating. While verified services may have an impeccable reputation, this does** not guarantee** protection from future problems.

For exchange services, mixers, cards, or any other financially-based services, our tests include real, anon transactions. For all other types of consumer services (B2C), including open-source projects, AI, non-profit services, and discussion platforms, tests are conducted under conditions as close as possible to everyday use.

The service cannot immediately move from the "Community" category to the "Verified" category.

  • Approved

The service has been operational for over three months and has undergone preliminary testing. It has mentions in the community, including confirmed testing by a reputable person on Bitcointalk and other platforms. Customer support is available. At the time of testing, no incidents or obvious red flags were identified.

Some services were automatically migrated from a previous version of BitList and were listed as Approved. The amount of retesting required is enormous, so if you notice any discrepancies, please report.

  • Community

This service was recently added, changing its status from "Pending" to "Community." It was added based on basic information from the community but has not been reviewed. The information may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. Please treat it with skepticism and conduct your own background checks.

  • Warning

This service is highly likely a scam, or there are clear red flags based on user reports. Failed testing results, open accusations of fraud, active flags on Bitcointalk, or any of these. For each specific case, a prominent note is usually added and displayed in the upper right corner of the service page.

  • Pending

After filling out the listing form, all newly added services are displayed as "pending" and are not displayed in lists regardless of filter changes or search results, but are accessible via a direct link. Placing a direct link to a service page on your website is a great way to collect reviews and the Verification vote (see Brand Guidelines).

The verification request button is available for all unverified projects, regardless of status. This helps us effectively assess the queue and feasibility of testing a particular service.

Karma System

Project Karma

  • Verified: 150 karma points
  • Approved: 100 karma points
  • Community: 50 karma points
  • Project age: 1 year +10 karma points
  • Low AML Review: +10 karma points
  • Affiliate account: +10 karma points

Comment Karma

  • Affiliate Comment: +1 karma point
  • Just a comment (verified user): +1 karma point
  • Comment Order ID (unverified user): +1 karma point
  • Comment Order ID (verified user): +1.5 karma point
  • Valid comment "Blocked funds": -3 karma points
  • Comment with 1 star from a verified user: -1 karma point

These are the basic values that form the project's karma rating depending on the completeness of the information about the project, its status, work history, and community activity.

SEO Boost

Owners or supporters can boost projects in the overall and category rankings thanks to a transparent donation system (SEO Boost). The SEO Boost feature was created to encourage directory expansion and provide projects with a fair path to the top page.

  • 1 SEO Boost ($30) = 1 Karma.
  • The donation history is displayed in the project's karma log.
  • The boost button appears on the service page in the list of hashtags.

An active community and support replies generate more karma, so this feature is more targeted at projects that don't have enough time to attract an audience to their service page.

Currently, the following are monitored for all services:

We are also working on adding more platforms that can be used to verify an account without the need for authentication.
